Answers to Our Most Frequently Asked Questions
Q – What areas do you serve?
A – We proudly serve southeastern Pennsylvania, the entire Delaware Valley, Lehigh Valley, and Susquehanna Valley and surrounding areas. The Pennsylvania counties we work in include Montgomery, Chester, Bucks, Delaware, Philadelphia, Lehigh, Berks, Northampton, Schuylkill, Lancaster, York, Cumberland, Lebanon, and Dauphin Counties. We travel to parts of New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland.
Q – Can I see your product in person at a showroom?
A – Yes! We invite you to visit one of our local showrooms in Perkiomenville, Emmaus, and Brownstown in Pennsylvania. We also install custom closets in the Delmarva area from our showroom in Selbyville, Delaware.
THE VICTORY CLOSETS ADVANTAGE
Q – What makes Victory Closets different from other custom closet companies?
A – Victory Closets was born when our founder, Greg Ahart, discovered that something was missing from traditional custom closet systems – versatility! His design for the Victory Closets system was awarded a US patent because it is reconfigurable – allowing you to easily change your layout. With Victory Closets you get beautiful, durable, sensibly priced storage solutions for any area in your home, and you’re not locked into one fixed design. Your closet organizer has the flexibility to change as your storage needs change. Ask to see a demonstration!
Q – What are the advantages of a wall-mount closet system versus floor-mounted?
A – Wall-mounted systems are installed on the wall without touching the floor. We attach our support rails to the studs for maximum stability. Similar to your kitchen cabinets, this method is very strong, and our patented cleating system means your closet shelves have greater support than the traditional pins and fasteners used by other closet systems. Another great benefit with a wall mount system is it takes less materials to create the same amount of storage which helps to keep pricing more affordable. Your floors, trim and moldings are not touched or removed, and your flooring can easily be replaced later without the hassle of removing your closet system. Read our blog post on wall-mounted vs. floor-mounted closets for more information.
Q – How deep are the shelves?
A – Our shelves, panels and drawers are all 14″ deep. This is 2″ deeper than standard builders grade wire shelving so your clothing won’t hang over the edge (or end up with that annoying waffle imprint!). We also offer a 12” option and can customize the shelf widths for narrow closets and pantries with space limitations. Our shelves are adjustable at 7″ increments.
Q – How are the shelves supported?
A – Our patented system uses cleated shelving supports that provide greater stability than the standard pins or fasteners used by many other closet systems. The cleats support the full depth of the shelves.
Q – How expensive is the face trim upgrade?
A – Our system comes with a 2” face trim on all the vertical panels at no extra cost! This is a beautiful feature that is often an expensive upgrade with other closet systems. The face trim creates a higher-end built-in cabinetry appearance instead of a plain panel without trim.
Q – Can your closet system be used with lower, angled ceilings?
A – Yes, we can design and install closets for rooms with angled ceilings. We use our tapered panels option to allow installation of the closet system at the maximum height possible to get the most storage in situations with shorter side walls due to a slanted ceiling. It depends on the height of your vertical wall. Any wall height less than 48 inches tall may not be ideal.
Q – Can your closet system be used with 9 foot or 10 foot tall ceilings?
A – Yes, ask us about our extended height system that gives you an additional 14” of upper storage height for closets, pantries, and rooms with taller ceilings. We want to help you maximize every inch of your storage space!
Q – Is the closet system good for kids’ rooms?
A – Yes, a custom closet is great for keeping kids’ rooms tidy and teaching good organization habits early. Your Victory Closets system is the only closet they’ll ever need! Our patented system makes it easy to move the rods and shelves yourself in seconds without tools, so the closet can “grow” as they do, from toddler and preschooler clothes to teenager gear. A Victory Closets baby nursery closet makes a great gift for new parents.
Q – How easy is it to reconfigure my closet system once it is installed?
A – Very easy! It takes no skill, tools, or fasteners, and you can rearrange your closet whenever needed. You’ll find this is especially useful at the change of seasons when your clothing needs change. For example, you may be switching from boots to sandals or from sundresses to bulky sweaters, and your Victory Closets closet storage can be easily adapted to suit your needs.
Q – Can I purchase additional parts (extra drawers, rods, or shelves) after the closet is installed?
A – Yes, and they are easy to add into your closet system without needing any tools. This can be a great option if you are trying to stay within a certain budget or are not sure which accessories to choose. You can always add drawers, hampers, or other accessories later after you’ve had a chance to use your closet and see what you really need. We will design your closet with this in mind, giving you the most flexible design for the future.
Q – Do you have coupons or promotions?
A – We keep our pricing simple, straightforward, and affordable, so our customers always know they got the best price. We don’t use high-pressure sales tactics or every-day discounts to compel you to sign a contract.
OUR HIGH QUALITY DIFFERENCE
Q – Do you use high quality materials in your organization system?
A – Yes! We take great pride in the quality of our custom closet system. We use high quality durable materials, the best drawer construction, and inspect every piece from manufacturing through installation. We stand behind our quality with our limited lifetime guarantee. Don’t just take our word for it, read our 5-star reviews, and see what our happy customers say about our product!
Q – What are the drawers made of?
A – We use the highest quality drawer construction with solid maple wood dovetailed drawer boxes and heavy duty undermount soft close glides. We guarantee your closet system for as long as you live in your home and recommend that you ask about drawer construction when comparing products. Other options on the market are less durable and use inferior construction such as particle board with dowels or mitered joints.
Q – Is melamine a durable material?
A – Yes, Melamine is the industry standard for closets and storage systems because it is highly durable, scratch resistant, and requires very little maintenance by the homeowner. With the Victory Closets system, we also don’t screw into the melamine shelves and panels. We have a patented cleat system that is permanently fixed to the panels. All of our shelves lock into the cleats, this eliminates fasteners and allows you to easily adjust your closet system as needed.
Q – Do you offer rounded corner shelves?
A – Yes, we have rounded corner shelves which are especially great for full access to corners in kitchen pantries. They are also a beautiful design enhancement to walk-in closets. Our rounded corners are one-piece seamless corners and are different from other options that use two connecting pieces to create a corner and will have seams.
Q – Can your system handle my heaviest winter coats and gear?
A – Don’t let the sleek look fool you, the Victory Closets system is a workhorse. Our patented cleat-support design distributes weight across the entire depth of the shelf, not just on small pins. It’s engineered to handle your heavy winter gear, bulk pantry items, and extensive shoe collections too!
THE DESIGN & INSTALLATION PROCESS
Q – Are your closets custom built to my needs?
A – We design and build your custom closet with our proprietary parts tailored to your specific needs and space configuration. We also offer drawers, doors, and a variety of accessories to personalize your closet (jewelry drawers, glide-out baskets and hampers, and other organization items).
Q – How much time does the in-home consultation take?
A – We don’t take up a lot of your time, and the in-home consultation typically takes 20 mins to an hour. We measure your closets and talk to you about your storage needs and preferences for colors and accessories. We don’t take inventory of your clothing and won’t ask you to sign any binding contracts. After your appointment, we will create a closet design that maximizes all your available storage space and send you your 3D designs and proposal within a few days. Your first design is a starting point, and we can make any adjustments you’d like to see until the design is perfect for you.
Q – Can I send my closet information by text or email or does someone need to come out to my home?
A – Depending on your preference, we can create 3D designs and provide pricing without having someone come out to your home. Just measure your closets and send us a basic sketch with the dimensions and a photo of the space if you can. Victory Closets takes responsibility for confirming the measurements before we install your closet.
Q – Is there a charge for the consultation or multiple design revisions?
A – We do not charge you for an in-home consultation and design revisions. Your appointment and renderings are free, and we will adjust your 3D designs until they meet your needs and expectations.
Q – How long will I have to wait for my new closet?
A – We know you’re ready to get organized! While timelines vary by season, most projects are installed within just a few weeks of design approval. Because we use a proprietary system with efficient local manufacturing, we typically have shorter lead times than big box closet and cabinet stores that might take a few months.
Q – Do I need to prep the space before my installation?
A – We ask that your spaces are completely empty and any old shelving is removed. Please ensure clear pathways are available for our installers to bring in the materials. You can handle the room prep yourself, or for a small fee, we offer same-day tear out and patch services, and we can dispose of your old wire racks. We’ll discuss these options during your consultation.
Q – Do you use subs or employees for installation?
A – Our installers are employees of Victory Closets, fully trained to provide 5-star service and treat your home with care. Read our reviews to see what some of our clients have said about our exceptional installers! They are polite and work as quietly as possible to ensure minimal disruption for you. They will take their shoes off in your home or wear shoe coverings. They will clean up thoroughly when the job is finished.
OUR FINISHES & ACCESSORIES
Q – What color options and finishes are available?
A – We offer a selection of modern and classic finishes, including crisp White and beautiful wood grain finishes – Driftwood and Vintage. For your custom closet or pantry hardware, we offer matte black and nickel handles, knobs, hanging poles and accessories. Upgrade options are available upon request. Our finishes are designed to complement any home aesthetic.
Q – Can you install accessories like jewelry drawers, hampers, or valet rods?
A – Yes! We offer a full suite of premium accessories including two-tier velvet-lined jewelry drawers with dividers, pull-out hampers with removable liners, belt racks, tie racks, valet rods, and more. All accessories integrate seamlessly into our patented closet system.
Q – Do you offer lighting solutions for darker closets?
A – While we don’t perform electrical work, our system’s open design and 14″ depth are optimized to work beautifully with any aftermarket battery-operated LED strips or recessed lighting installed by an electrician. Integrated under-shelf lighting and closet pole lights in a closet system are decorative but not really functional. They can be a very expensive accessory. Your most important lighting is coming from your ceiling. The best choice to light up your closet is to improve your ceiling lights. This can be achieved by using brighter LED bulbs, adding recessed lighting, changing the shape of your light, or installing a statement chandelier.
INCREASED RESALE VALUE, WARRANTY & CARE
Q – Does a custom closet increase my home’s resale value?
A – Absolutely! Imagine how excited you would feel to find your perfect home and discover it has custom closets, a custom kitchen pantry, and custom storage in the laundry room! High-quality, organized storage is a major selling point for buyers in the Philadelphia suburbs. A Victory Closets system is a high-ROI home improvement because it is a furniture-grade upgrade that stays with the home and makes it move-in ready.
Q – Do you guarantee your product?
A – Yes! We stand behind the quality of our product and workmanship, and our limited lifetime warranty guarantees your Victory Closets system for as long as you live in your home.
Q – How should I clean my new Victory Closet?
A – The melamine-coated surfaces of your Victory Closets system don’t need a great deal of cleaning. Care of these sealed surfaces is easy, and most require only periodic light dusting.
To clean light dust or dirt from surfaces, gently wipe with a dry or very slightly moistened cotton cloth. To clean dirtier areas or scuffs, clean with a little water and a mild cleaning agent such as dish soap. As with any furniture product, never use excessive water, harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive cleaning pads.
